Funny how the PRs love singapore more than a significant portion of the native Singaporeans. The fact that many PRs actually willing to protect singapore in times of crisis also amazed me.
Singaporeans like to complain about foreigners, about how they 'steal' their job, upset economy, and simply fuck off in bad times, or even war. But when I ask a couple of actually Singaporean friends, most of them told me they'll rather fuck off first with their family than to go back take rifle and defend sg. On the other hand, ALL the PRs I've asked so far who spent around 10years in sg, would gladly defend singapore. And they mean it. Oh and me included, lol.
They also like to pick on a few individuals who did some stupid shit to get their face on the Internet, and claim that 'this is what happens when you bring in more foreigners.' my opinion to this is always 'look at ourselves, even our own people got quite a number of Fucked up ones. Only a few just so happened to be PRC or bangala then make a huge deal out of it.
I just think many who are born here are just dissatisfied with everything Cuz they haven't experience worst. People from other countries probably have seen worst so they appreciate sg, and are willing to lay their life to protect this country for their family reside.
I must say singapore has done a good job in making migrants feel rooted towards singapore. Well, but not that much of a good job in making their own citizens appreciate singapore.
And as always. I'm not implying all. I'm saying a significant portion. As I myself also do know people who appreciate sg, and whom actually realise how lucky we are.
